Flashback: Trip to Boston - April 2006
I know its been a long time since Paula or I have provided any updates. I hope to post more often here in the near future.
For now, I’m going to cheat and repost a photoblog from our trip to Boston last year. I orignially posted it on an old blog that I don’t use anymore, so I thought it would be a good idea to repost it here for you to see and for us to look back on…

So… the company sent me out to Boston last week for a conference. I took Paula, Stryker, and Beckham with. We have never been to Boston before… but always wanted to experience Beantown. We definitely were not disappointed…
We took off on Jet Blue out of Long Beach. It was my first time flying Jet Blue. Paula has flown it to D.C. a couple of times for her job and she always raved about it. Now I know why… Jet Blue is PIMP! The dogs loved it too…
The seats were the most comfortable that I’ve ever been in any plane… although, I have never ridden first class (yet ). The seats were leather and each had it’s own monitor with DirecTV! I even managed to get some work done while watching SportCenter…
When we got to our hotel, we were starving… so, we were ecstatic when we spotted an UNO’s right across the street! We do not have UNO’s in Cali, so we had to go all the way to Boston for Chicago pizza…
The pizza hit the spot, but we needed something to wash it down with… So, we headed out to this bar (or “bah”) where everybody knew our name…
We spent most of the next day in the hotel because it seemed like we had the best view of everything that was going on in Boston for Patriots Day. The last mile of the Boston Marathon ran right past our window…
In the picture above, the Hoyt’s are passing by. They are an inspiration and receive much love from the city of Boston. We also heard the cheers erupt from the other side of the street when the Red Sox won an exciting game with a homer in the last inning…
We stayed in the Hotel Commonwealth which is in Kenmore Square. The hotel was super nice and it was in the middle of everything! We walked to pretty much everywhere we needed to go. We were able to use Boston’s famous CITGO sign as our landmark…
Towards the end of the day, we took the dogs out and walked along the Charles River…
The next couple days, I attended an Internet Marketing conference where I met Malcolm Gladwell…
I also met the Super Bloggers of Search - Jeremey Zawodney, Matt Cutts, and Robert Scoble…
During our last night in Boston, we headed over to Yawkey Way where we bought some authentic and overpriced Red Sox gear…
Then we put our new purchases to use at the Red Sox game inside the historic Fenway Park…
All in all, the trip was excellent… The conference went well and we did everything we wanted to do while we were in Boston. I guess there is also a lot of historical sites to check out, but I didn’t pay too much attention in my history classes. However, as I’m getting more and more into history and learning about everything I possibly can, I look forward to exploring those options during our next visit.
Check out the rest of the pics from our Boston trip!
